Wilma Patricia Hollinrake, 98, passed away peacefully at her home in the early morning hours on Sunday, October 1, 2023.
Wilma was born December 7, 1924, in Lovilia, Iowa to William & Anna (Molloy) Beary. She married Leo Hollinrake on May 3, 1952. They lived and raised their family in Des Moines where she worked for Northwestern Bell for 23 Years until her retirement. Family and faith were very important to Wilma, which included Sunday dinners, Little League baseball games, Girl Scouts, and summers at Lake Rathbun.
She is survived by her children, Joan Gideon, Colleen Hollinrake, Debra (Garry) Caldbeck, David (Sharon) Hollinrake and daughter-in-law Jean Hollinrake; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; her brother, John Lowell (Mary Jo) Beary; brother-in-law Joe (Jean) Hollinrake; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo; son Bill; three brothers and five sisters.
A visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel (7601 Fleur Dr., Des Moines) on Friday, October 6, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary by Father Dan Kirby at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 7, at 10:00 a.m., at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church (720 Orchard Hills Dr., Norwalk, Iowa) with visitation in the church chapel at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
