September 22, 2023, William Hale, Jr., 54, of Des Moines, IA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Bill, the eldest of three children, was born on October 11, 1968, to William and Judy Hale in St. Louis, Missouri. Shortly after his birth, the family relocated to Iowa where Bill has lived his entire life.
Growing up, Bill spent many of his childhood years getting into mischief with his brother Jim. The two could always be found riding pigs, playing in the mud, fishing, or doing anything outdoors that they were told not to.
Before separating, Bill and Sue welcomed a daughter, Ashley, who he often referred to as his "Pooh". Bill was also blessed with two additional bonus daughters, Kenzie and Kaydence, from his long-term relationship with Angel.
Bill was a collector of all things, and often referred to as Mr. Sanford, by his father. He could find use out of anything, and if you ever needed anything, he had at least one. Bill was also a self-proclaimed dog trainer and rarely was seen out and about without one of his loyal companions.
Although he struggled with his own demons, Bill had a heart of gold, and always tried to find the positive in any situation. Like his parents, Bill would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need and that is how we will always remember him.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26th from 4 – 7 pm at the Sunset Memorial Chapel, 7601 Fleur Dr in Des Moines.
William is survived by his parents William (Gene) and Judy Hale, brother Jim Hale, sister Crystal Golay (Katie), daughter Ashley Lincoln as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
