William "Bill" Hall

William “Bill” Hall, 99, passed away January 7th, 2024. Bill was born on November 6th, 1924, and grew up on the south side of Des Moines. At the age of 17, he joined the Navy and served in WWII. After his service, he moved back to Des Moines, where he met his first wife, Nina. They had their daughter, Ruth, then moved and raised her in Waukee, IA. He was a hardworking man, and welder at Des Moines Steele until he retired.


He was a deeply religious man, who loved the Lord with all his heart, and spent many years serving at Fort Des Moines Open Bible. Bill was a blessing to all that knew him, whether it be through his kind words and prayers, or his gentle sense of humor and acts of service.


He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nina; second wife, Marianne; daughter, Ruth; Brothers, Glen, Kelmer, and Jim; Sisters, Larene, and Shirley.  He is survived by his sister, Darlene; Grandchildren, Flynn, David, and Beth; son-in-law, Sam; 4 Great-Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.


Services will be held on Thursday, January 18th, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 7601 Fleur Dr, Des Moines, IA 50321. Visitation will start at 10AM CT, Funeral and committal services at 11AM CT.
