Vicki Lea Ayres, born Victoria Lea Campbell, passed away early Monday January 31st at age 72. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 8th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Chapel (7601 Fleur Dr. Des Moines). Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 9th at 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Vicki was born on May 23, 1949 to Rex and Bernice Campbell in Des Moines Iowa. Vicki remained in the same house she was raised in for the majority of her life.
Vicki worked many customer service and retail positions over the years where she formed lasting relationships with many people.
Vicki loved going on cruises and loved traveling with her family and friends. She loved having family over for get-togethers and holidays. Vicki was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and attended several games at Wrigley Field. She was a dog lover and had many pets throughout her life.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Berniece and Rex as well as her husband Vern Ayres.
Left to honor her memory are her daughter, Nicole Gering (Michael), and son, Danny Ayres (Jennifer). Grandchildren, Abrian Alvarez (Candace), Zachary Ayres (Tami), Allison Ayres, Andrea Ayres, and Alexandra Ayres. Great grandchildren, Jayna, Rayna, Enzo, Myla and 3 week old Payton.
Sisters, Sheryl Eginore (Bud), and Linda Gibbons. Also left to mourn are her grand-pups, Daisy, Lily and Bear.
Vicki will be forever missed and loved by many.
