Ursula Brunhilde Minard, age 92, was born April 15, 1933, in Dillenburg, Germany, and passed away on March 5, 2026, at Regency Care Center in Norwalk, Iowa.


Ursula was a loving wife, mother, and Oma (grandmother). She was an active volunteer at St. John’s the Apostle Catholic Church in Norwalk, where she was a member of the Rosary Society and helped bring communion to residents in nursing homes. Ursula was also an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary #562, the Air National Guard 132nd Airborne Wing Auxiliary, and the German American Club.


She is survived by her husband, Clyde Harold Minard; her children, Sybille Ferguson, Walter (Gerri) Minard, and David (Kelli) Minard; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.


Ursula was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Elisobeth Fruend; her brothers, Manfred, Rudiger, and Norbert Fruend; her son, Larry Clyde Minard; her son-in-law, Richard Ferguson; and her great-great-grandson, Michael Jon Hick.


Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Ursula during a visitation on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. John’s the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 Orchard Hills Dr., Norwalk, Iowa. A funeral Mass celebrating Ursula’s life and faith will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s the Apostle Catholic Church in Norwalk.


Ursula will be remembered for her deep love of family, her strong faith, and her caring service to others.
