Terry Lee Meier, age 60, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 9, 2022 at his home in Adel, Iowa.
Terry was born on January 7, 1962 in Des Moines to Robert and Sandra (Whitcomb) Meier.
He grew up in West Des Moines and went to school at Ruby Van Meter in Des Moines. He was dedicated and worked happily at Red Lobster for many years while living in Florida and Iowa. He won several medals for swimming in the Iowa Special Olympics. He traveled to New York, Hawaii, and Dallas TX, where he saw his favorite team, The Cowboys, and Southfork Ranch from his favorite TV show, Dallas. He enjoyed bowling, dancing, and jokes. Lots of jokes!
Terry is survived by his mother, Sandra; brother, Randall; uncle and aunt Dick and Joyce Atwell; nieces Jaclyn Meier, Paige Meier, and Kaylee Miller; nephew Alex Miller; and cousin Melody Atwell. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Meier; step-father James Joering; and sister, Michelle Meier Miller.
On Monday, October 17th there will be a visitation from 3:00-4:00pm at Sunset Memorial Chapel followed by a memorial service at 4:00-5:00pm. Terry will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
