OBITUARY


Ronnie Moulder (83), of Des Moines, Iowa, more recently from Cape Coral, Florida, passed away on November 6, 2023, surrounded by several of his children and grandchildren.

‍Ronnie was born to Grady Moulder and Dorothy Puckett on December 17, 1939, in Danville, Virginia. He was raised by Grady and Pauline Moulder in Franklinton, North Carolina. He joined the US Air Force in 1956 and continued his military career until 1965 when he moved to Iowa and joined the Air National Guard. While in the military he was part of the Air Police and transferred to Denver, Colorado. While in Denver, he met and married Theressa Cappellin in 1959. Together they had four children- Rhonda Moulder of Cape Coral, FL, Anthony (Grettel) of Cape Coral, FL, David (Mari) of Prior Lake, MN and Susan Moulder of Minneapolis, MN. Ronnie spent 2 years in Germany before returning to the US to join his family and moving to military stops in Portland, OR, Goldsboro, NC, and Niceville, FL. They raised their 4 children in Des Moines, Iowa.


Ronnie worked at the United States Postal Service in Des Moines for over 25 years – starting as a mail carrier in his early days and later as a branch manager. After retirement from the Postal Service, he became a manufacturing manager for 10 years. He was loved and admired, not only by family, but numerous friends, and even acquaintances.

Among Ronnie’s hobbies, his favorite things do included Golf, especially with his buddies and his 2 sons; Bowling where he participated and excelled in many leagues and tournaments over the years; Card Playing; and was an avid sports fan – watching the Washington Redskins (Commanders), the Iowa Hawkeyes, and especially the New York Yankees. A couple of his favorite trips included NYC to watch his beloved Yankees play the Minnesota Twins with his kids, and to California to play golf at Pebble Beach with his boys. But mostly, he cherished his time with his children and many grandchildren.

After Ronnie and Theressa’s dissolution of marriage, he met and married Anna Cordero of Des Moines, Iowa.


Ronnie is survived by his four children, his brother Dewey (Candy) Moulder of Danville, VA and his grand and great-grandchildren Nikki (Brian) Morris, Shania; Andrea (Isaac) Wyant, Elijah and Jewel (Tev), Ocean; Steven (Mary) Foley, Jesse, Elizabeth and Jonah; Alexis (Jordan) Gerrish, Andrew and Benjamin; Nicole Moulder, Blake and Anthony; Lukas and Savannah Moulder; Corbin (Nick) and Emily Moulder; Michaela Moulder, niece Connie Flowers and nephews Keith and Tim Kennedy.


He was preceded in death by his parents Grady, Pauline and Dorothy, wife Anna Moulder, sister Sandra Kennedy, grandsons Nicholas and Christopher Moulder, and his nephew Kenneth Strother.


A Memorial Service is scheduled for April 6, 2024, at 11:am-12:00pm at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, Iowa. A burial will follow immediately afterwards at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
