Richard Hutchens

Richard Hutchens, age 68, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, at the Taylor House in Des Moines, Iowa.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 18^th at 11 am at the Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery, 7601 Fleur Dr. in Des Moines. 

Born on April 1, 1957, Richard was a proud graduate of North High School. Known for his quick wit and infectious humor, Rich had a remarkable ability to brighten any room and could always be counted on for a good joke.

He is survived by his brother Tracy Hutchens and sister-in-law Becky Hutchens; his nephew Mike Hutchens; niece Jessica Shanahan; goddaughter Diah Knapp; and many cherished friends.

Richard now joins his beloved parents, Irene and Harley Hutchens, in eternal rest.

His memory will live on in the laughter he inspired and the love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him.
