It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Philip Ray Reinier, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Phil was born on March 28, 1943 to James and Mildred Reinier. He graduated from East High School and lived his entire life in the Des Moines area. After driving a semi in his earlier years, he became a diesel mechanic by trade, owning “Phils Truck Service” for many years. He finished up his career with Hallet Materials servicing heavy equipment.
Phil and his wife Pat raised seven children. He loved to camp, boat, fish, and water ski with his family. He also enjoyed socializing with his many friends, always seeing the good in everyone. Upon retirement, Phil enjoyed traveling with Pat. He also took up woodworking, spending many hours in his garage.
Phil is survived by his wife, Pat; sons, Ron (Rhonda) Anderson, Steve (Molly) Anderson, and Tom (Michele) Anderson; daughters, Tammy (Debbie Hall) Reinier, and Debbie (Larry) Anderson; brothers, David Reinier and Harlo Reinier; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his sons, Phil Reinier and Jimmy Reinier; parents, James and Mildred Reinier; brothers, Gary Reinier and Kenny Reinier.
Per his wishes, cremation has occurred. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 7601 Fleur Dr., Des Moines, IA Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 11:30 a.m.
Dear Lord, thank you for the life of this loving man. We are grateful for Your gift to us. May he rest in eternal peace until we all meet again. Amen.
