With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Pamela Lee Lara (Pam Bougher,) born October 13, 1961, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Pam passed away peacefully in her home in Altoona on August 8, 2023, age 61, surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Bougher Sr.
She is survived by her mother, Shirley Scovel, stepmother, Fern Bougher, sisters Michell Bougher and Janelle (Mark) Whisler, brother, Larry Bougher Jr, daughters, Sahvannah (Anthony) Jackson, Sami Bougher, Mari (George) Morales, son, Fernando Lara, grandchildren, Ean, Zaedyn, Cameron, Adrian, Olivia, Madden, Khalayiah, Nahvayah, Aliyana, Vivienne, and a host of nieces and nephew, and cousins.
Pam loved spending time with her family; from going to hockey games, playing card games, or talking about her favorite shows. She cared deeply for her family and was selfless to a fault. Pam worked in health care for many years, caring for the disabled and elderly. Then she went on to work at Git-N-Go at the corporate headquarters and as a store manager. She had a strong work ethic and loved working to provide for her family. Pam developed many friendships through her careers and in her life, all who will miss her dearly.
There will be a visitation at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, IA 50321, on Sunday, August 13th from 4 to 5 pm, with a celebration of life reception beginning at 5 pm.
Pam’s final resting place will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
Memorials may be directed to the family for causes dear to Pam.
