Virginia Elaine Williams was born on September 26, 1932, and passed from this life at 8:23 p.m. on April 8, 2026, surrounded by family.
Virginia lived life on her own terms and followed her own path. She spent her working years in several roles, including at Lucas Products, Wilson Foods, Kmart, Osceola Leisure Manor, and Boyt. More than anything, she was a mother who raised her four children on her own, learning as she went and doing the best she could in difficult circumstances.
She is survived by her son, David (Heidi) McCuddin; her daughter, Alice Lohman; her sister, Dolores (Lynn) Hommer; six granddaughters, one grandson, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wes and Alice Ransom; her daughters, Melody Hills and LoRae McCuddin; her grandson, Dustin McCuddin; and her great-grandson, Sam Gwinn.
With love and remembrance, a graveside service will be held on April 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 7601 Fleur Drive in Des Moines, Iowa.
