Marilyn Joann Pryor

Marilyn Joann Pryor (November 10, 1935 - September 3, 2022) of Des Moines, Iowa.


Marilyn was 86 years of age, born in Des Moines, IA to parents Clifford and Rose Carter Worthington. Her favorite travel experience was going to Israel in 1976 with the Pat Boone Tour. Marilyn had a way with words on paper and she wrote two full albums of poetry. She was a member of Kingsway Christian Church, a member of “End-Time Hand-Maidens;” and worked at various jobs.


Marilyn is survived by four children: Christina Anderson (Jack) of Newton, IA, Ray Dean “Skip” Pryor (Becky) of West Des Moines, IA, Kenneth Pryor of West Des Moines, IA, and David Pryor (Margot) of Peru; four grandchildren: Lisa Umbaugh of Adel, IA, Trista Hills (Kyle) of Waukee, IA, Scott Anderson of Newton, IA and Joseph Anderson of Bakersfield, CA; six great-grandchildren; Kiersten Stout (Andrew), Jaxon Anderson, Emmerson Hills, Alison Anderson, Brix Anderson and Guthrie Wilson.


Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ray who just went to be with the Lord on May 25th (they were united in marriage for 70 years); great-grandchildren Krystal Maple and Devin Pryor; parents Clifford and Rose Worthington; and two brothers: Gene and Donal Worthington.


A memorial service for BOTH Ray and Marilyn Pryor will be held Monday, September 12 at 10:30am at Sunset Memorial Chapel, Des Moines, Iowa. There will be a visitation beforehand from 9:30-10:30am. Marilyn will be laid to rest next to Ray following the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A luncheon reception will be held to further commemorate their lives and time for sharing at 12pm.


Ray and Marilyn were united in marriage for 70 years.
