Linda A. Vanderlinden

Linda A. Vanderlinden, 74 of Des Moines died of lung cancer on Monday, August 24, 2026, at her home. Linda, the daughter of Wayne and Lorraine Cole Cronk on October 5, 1951, in Waterloo, Iowa.
She graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines. Linda married Garry L. Vanderlinden and was employed with the Shopper News Network and TMC Transportation until her retirement.
She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and will be missed by all.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Garry, daughter Kris (Matt) Gardner, son Rick (Jennifer) Davenport and her twin daughters Glenna (Perrin) Taylor and Leslie (Bill) Hunter. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by her father Wayne Cronk, Mother and stepfather Phyllis Lorraine and Robert Merryfield, a sister Janet Cohoon and stepdaughter Tawnya Wilson.
A visitation will be held September 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Chapel ,7601 Fleur Dr, Des Moines, Iowa.
The family invites those in attendance to a time of fellowship at the Sunset Chapel reception room immediately following the committal service.
