Lewis "Lew" Manor

DES MOINES–Lew Manor, 93, passed away Tuesday, December 8 at Iowa Methodist surrounded by his loving family.

He married Vera in 1947 (73 years together) and they had two

children: Sandy and Randy.

He retired from Firestone after 35 years. He was a “Jack of all Trades” and everyones “Mr Fixer” from houses to cars. Always there to help with a smile and everyone’s favorite person. He bowled and traveled to tournaments until he was 91. He loved camping, traveling and his flower and vegetable garden. He was always happy to share his tomatoes and rhubarb with family, friends and neighbors. People would stop in front of his house and compliment his yard and flowers.

When his granddaughter, Marissa, was born he became her best friend. Going to the playground, playing Candyland or anything she wanted to do. They spent many Saturdays together. He was her biggest fan playing sports.

Those left to cherish his memory are wife Vera, daughter Sandy and Ed Mote, son Randy and Melani, granddaughter Marissa (Mote) and Zach Behrens. Many nieces, nephews and friends.
