Lawrence Howard Powell (Larry) 94. He was called home to Jesus on December 3, 2021. Born August 9, 1927 to Myrtle A. and Tomas J. Powell in Redfield, IA.
He was an Army Veteran served in the Korean War and earned a Purple Heart. Larry worked for many years at Delevan Manufacturing. He also worked for John Deere in Waterloo and Polk County Courthouse.
Larry is survived by his daughter Melody Mowery, grandchildren Pamela Powell, Anthony Powell, James Powell, Michael Powell, Angela Powell, Brian Lafrenz, Tanya Lafrenz. 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ula Maxine Powell, parents, Tomas J. & Myrtle A. Powell. Brothers, Everet Powell and Earle Powell. Sisters, Hazel Root, Wilma Siegenthaler; son, Merle Powell and a grandson Joshua Rigby.
Visitation will be at Sunset Memorial Chapel December 14, 2021 from 1 pm to 2 pm. Funeral service to follow the visitation with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
