JoAnne Durrett, age 83, passed away Sunday, June 26th peacefully in her sleep.
JoAnne was born April 5th, 1939 in Clearfield, Iowa to Hal and Treva Pierce. She is survived by her daughter Vicki (Tony) Wiebelhaus, and Grandsons Joey (Jennifer) and Eric (Melissa) Burkheimer, Great Grandson’s Trenton and Nathan, one Brother Mick (Kathy) Pierce and many nieces and nephews, and her Aunt Ber, and other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two Brothers, Dick and Gary Pierce, and Uncle Delbert (Ber) Routh, also her first husband Keith Nauman, second husband Houston Durrett, and companion George Taylor, and her very dear friend Ruth Stumbo.
JoAnne worked in the food service all of her life. In retirement she loved to go to garage sales and baby-sit her great-grandsons. She also loved country music and gardening, as well as the memories made at all the family barbecues.
There will be a visitation from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, July 8th at Sunset Memorial Chapel (7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, Iowa 50321) phone# (515) 285-4600 with a graveside service immediately following.
