Jerald L. White

Jerald L. White, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

Jerald was born on November 3, 1931, to Otto and Mary (Clark) White. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and caring for his family. Jerald was blessed with three daughters: Julie, Marsha, and Mary.

In 1966, Jerald joined his church family, which became an important and meaningful part of his life. In 1979, he was united in marriage to his best friend, Jeanne. They shared many wonderful years together until her passing on January 15, 2024.

In his later years, Jerald enjoyed reading, particularly the Bible and western novels. He was also an avid sports fan, following the Iowa Hawkeyes, Kansas City Chiefs, and St. Louis Cardinals. Jerald greatly enjoyed visiting with others, especially Scott and John, whose friendship and companionship meant a great deal to him.

Jerald was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Jeanne; his daughter, Mary Hughes White; his brothers, Don, Ernie, Albert, Raymond, Clifford, and Milford; and his sister, Viola Brown.

He is survived by his daughters, Julie Adams and Marsha Solares; stepsons, Tim (Ella Novitskiy) Watson and Russ Watson; grandchildren, Ashley White, Shane Adams, Jessica Watson, Dylan Hughes, Josh Watson, Hanna (Shawn Ashtiani) Adams, Hunter (Heather Lemon) Hughes, and Tristan Solares; and great-grandchildren, Bailey, Mariah, Ryder, and Maverick. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Sunset Memorial Chapel in Des Moines. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the service. Jerald will be laid to rest at St. Charles Cemetery.
