Heather Lundquist

Heather Danette Lundquist, 43, died Thursday, October 12, 2023, at EveryStep Kavanagh House, in Des Moines, IA. She died peacefully, surrounded by family and friends.


Heather graduated from Lincoln High School in 1998. She worked in the medical insurance industry for years. Heathers sense of humor would light up the room and have everyone laughing. She always wanted to make sure everyone was happy. She loved to give the people in her life that she adored, nicknames. She enjoyed listening to music, she loved watching funny and scary movies and Halloween was her favorite holiday.

Heather was a devoted mother to Maddie and Waylan. They enjoyed going thrift shopping and going out to eat together at Henry J’s. Movie and cuddle nights were their most favorite times together. Heather always showered Maddie and Waylan in kisses and hugs.


She is survived by her daughter, Madison Hawkins of Ankeny and son, Waylan Booth of Des Moines, mother Wendy Lundquist Hamlett and stepfather David Hamlett of Des Moines, father Gary Wood of Des Moines, sister Tieysa Wood of Des Moines, sister Randi Lundquist and husband Robert Daughenbaugh of Des Moines, sister Emily Hamlett of Des Moines, brother Gary Wood Jr of Des Moines, her grandpa Jim Rychel of Des Moines and grandma Sherry Lundquist of Des Moines. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Preceding her in death was her Grandpa Richard Lundquist, Grandmother Nancy Lundquist, cousin Jessica Spidell, grandmother Marilyn Rychel, and Uncle Donnie Wood.


Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Chapel from 6-8 pm. The funeral will be at Sunset Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 11 am. We will be serving a lunch after the services onsite.
