Gertrude Doris Lint was born November 9, 1926, in Clinton, Iowa to Henry and Katie Klooster. She graduated from Fulton High School in Fulton, Illinois, and went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2026, at Ramsey Village in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 99.
Trudy and her twin sister Doris moved from the family farm in Illinois to Des Moines after attending business school. They first took jobs at Camp Dodge before Trudy met Charles Lint, married him, and started a family.
Gertrude “Trudy” Lint lived a long and resilient life of 99 years, quietly demonstrating strength, dedication, and a deep love for her family and the Lord. A devoted mother, she worked at the State of Iowa and Farmland Insurance Company after her children were older. She enjoyed working with computers and office equipment, using those skills to help provide for her family. After losing her husband in his 60s, she lived independently, managing her affairs and investing wisely.
Trudy expressed her love through nurturing acts, especially as an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing family meals. She maintained a close relationship with her twin sister Doris until Doris’s passing two years ago. She cherished time with her family, always looking forward to their phone calls and visits and finding quiet pleasure in their lives even when words were hard to find.
She kept her mind remarkably active through reading her Bible, researching on the computer, solving puzzles, gardening, crocheting, and cross-stitch. She faithfully watched her favorite Bible teacher, Les Feldick, and prayed that her family would know the Lord as their Savior. Despite physical pain in her later years, she continued using her iPad daily to stay connected with loved ones.
Trudy is survived by her three daughters, Diana (Rich) Philpott of Des Moines, Iowa, Marcia Lint of Orlando, Florida, and Sandra (Steve) Wilde of Eureka, California; 2 grandchildren, Katie Mitchell, and Jason Gregory; and 3 great-grandchildren, Lori, Audrey, and Natalie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Katie Klooster, husband Charles Lint, and twin sister Doris Lair.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 7601 Fleur Dr., Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation will be held in the chapel from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., where family and friends may gather to share memories and offer support. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family thanks Ramsey Village for their loving care during the last 1½ years of Trudy’s life and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate support.
