Elizabeth Jane Miller

Elizabeth Jane Miller passed away on August 25, 2026. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 31st at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens Chapel (7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, IA 50321). A service will be held afterward at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens after the service. Jane’s family invites attendees to join them for a luncheon after the burial.

Jane was born on January 9, 1931, to Roy and Maude Goodwin in Washington Center, MO and grew up on the family farm in northern Missouri with six siblings. She attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO, where she met her husband of 71 years, Dan. Jane was a Kindergarten teacher in the Des Moines Public School system for many years teaching at Fort Des Moines, Mann, and Watrous. She was a member of New Heights church. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Jane is preceded in death by her husband Dan, parents, and five siblings: Dwight, Franklin, Dewene, Nina, and Jean.

Jane is survived by her three children Paul (Sandy) Miller, Teresa (Gary) McDonough, and Mike (Julie) Miller; grandchildren Brian, Meghan, Ben, and Luke; great-grandchildren Lydia, Sylvia, Bridget, and Liam.

Jane is also survived by her sister Joan.
