Dwight Robb, of Des Moines, IA passed away September 25th at the age of 94. He was the husband of Rebecca Robb, and father of Ella Carr, Gordon Robb, Sandy Shipley and Roger Robb. He was born on July 6, 1926 in Tama, Iowa. He attended public school in Unionville, IA. He is a member of The Church of God in Des Moines on the Southside. He served as a Sunday School Superintendent and a Sunday School Teacher.
He was united in holy matrimony to Rebecca Robb on June 3, 1950. They were married for 70 years. This union was blessed with four children, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
He was a World War II Veteran and was stationed in Germany. He worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber for 33 years. He loved to walk. In the past he would walk for miles each day. Dwight loved motorcycle riding, hunting, fishing, working on cars and fried chicken. He was known to sing all the time, especially after his first heart surgery. Dwight received Christ at the age of 81, and was a devoted Christian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Raymond, Howard and Wayne, and his sisters Wanda and Juanita. He is survived by his wife, his four children, and his brother, Arlo; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, September 29 at Brooks South Town Chapel at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, his funeral service will be private.
