Dorothy Mae Gross, 91, of Norwalk, Iowa, passed away peacefully at Glen Oaks Care Center from complications of Alzheimer’s on January 22, 2023. Visitation will be held at 10am followed by services at 11 am on Friday, January 27th. Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel.
Dorothy was born to Frank and Mae Rich on January 1, 1932. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On September 2, 1951 she married William Dilsaver and from this union she had four children. On February 14, 1987 she married Jerry Gross.
Dorothy loved bowling, playing cards and games, her flower gardens, puzzles, collecting teddy bears and spending time with family.
Dorothy is survived by her children Kathy Rinkenberger, Michael (Jane) Dilsaver, Mark (Rhonda) Dilsaver, Janet (Brad) Kinman; grandchildren Gerod (Missy) Rinkenberger, Bob Rinkenberger, Kaitlin (Collin) McCormick, Aaron (Ashlie) Dilsaver, Allison Kinman and Brady Kinman; and great grandchildren, Macyn, Cooper, Finnegan and Mark.
Dorothy is also survived by stepdaughter, Pamela (Mac) McDougal; stepson, Tom Gross; step grandchildren, Deanna (Rob) Kieliszek, Erin (Adam) Schroder, Devin (Laney) McDougal, Patrick (Lia) McDougal, and Tyler Gross; and step great-grandchildren, Montana, Skylar, Emmitt, Emma, Eli, Isaih, Dylan, and Victoria.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Gross; parents, Frank and Mae Rich; brothers Harold Rich and Harry Rich; son-in-law, Gary Rinkenberger and stepson, Jerry Gross Jr.
