Donald LeRoy Davis

Donald L. Davis, 89, of Ankeny, Iowa, died April 13, 2026, in Ankeny.

Donald was born Jan. 16, 1937, in Canton, Illinois, to Ernest M. and Cleo N. (Moorhouse) Davis. 

He served in the U.S. Army. His career was varied but always focused on people, whom he loved.

Surviving are daughters Karen (Phil) Luciano, Amy (Robert) King, Sherri (Mike) Young and Laura (Eric) Forret. Also surviving are grandchildren Jake (Bree) Smith, Allie (Chy) Smith,

Tyler (Mary) Smith, Siobhan King, Amie (Corey) Duffy, Gabe (Amanda) Green, Jacob (Linnea) Green, Noah Munoz, Hannah (Q) Munoz along with great-grandchildren Maxine, Jack, Cecilia, Josie, Allura, Liam, London, Levi, Harrison, Hazel, Owen, Delaney, Evalyn and Aurora.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie, a brother, Jerry, and a sister, Donna.

With love and remembrance, a graveside service with military honors will be held on April 18, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 7601 Fleur Drive in Des Moines, Iowa.
