Dixie Lee Randolph, 81, passed away on March 21, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 26th at 2 pm at the Sunset Memorial Chapel in Des Moines. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until service time.
Born on May 9, 1944, Dixie was the beloved daughter of Raymond and Louise Randolph. She lived a life filled with creativity, strong spirit, and deep care for those around her.
Dixie will be remembered as a very caring individual, whose orneriness brought both laughter and fond memories to her family and friends. She had a special way of staying connected with loved ones, often writing long, heartfelt letters to friends and extended family members over the years.
She found great joy in simple, creative pursuits—spending hours drawing, coloring, and working on craft projects. Dixie had a talent for turning collected odds and ends into meaningful creations. She also had a deep love for animals and cherished time spent with her family, especially attending the Iowa State Fair together.
Dixie is survived by her sisters, Terri (William) Stevens, Sheila Gentosi, and Donna Grant, along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews who will carry her memory forward.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Louise Randolph; her sister, Patty Ann Randolph; her brother, Edward “Red” Randolph; and her nephew, James Grant.
Dixie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
