Dennis “Denny” Reynolds

Dennis “Denny” Eugene Reynolds, 83, passed away September 12, 2026 at Accura HealthCare in Carlisle, Iowa. He was born April 9, 1943, in Adair, Iowa during WWII to the late Virgil Eugene and Doris Marie (Shank) Reynolds.

Services for Denny will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 7601 Fleur Dirve, Des Moines, IA 50321. Family will greet at a Visitation, Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, with Funeral at 11:00 am. Burial of Denny will take place immediately following next to Sheryl at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is encouraged, as that's how Denny would've wanted it.

After his graduation from Des Moines Technical High School printing department, Denny spent his entire career in the printing industry, helping to form Northwestern Graphics, which became Kimberley Press, and then ColorFX.

Denny liked to spend time in the outdoors enjoying fishing and hunting and for many years helped to run Arrowhead Resort in Nestor Falls, Ontario, Canada with his wife Sheryl and her parents, Clyde & Decie Mason. He developed a love for coaching Y.M.C.A. youth sports for many years, which he continued to do even after his children grew up. Denny was devoted to conservation, had a curious mind, and had a passion for the pursuit of truth and fairness. He was a longtime member of the Des Moines Izaak Walton League, the Des Moines Craftsmen's Club, and spent many years volunteering with the South Suburban Y.M.C.A.

In addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by his loving wife Sheryl Reynolds and is survived by his sister, P.J. (Chuck) Mayfield of Des Moines; sons Mark (Ron Briggs) Reynolds of La Quinta, California and Chad (Stephanie) Reynolds of Norwalk, Iowa; and grandchildren Alisha Reynolds and Brett Reynolds (who he was very proud of).

In lieu of flowers, the family would request considering a donation to the Des Moines Izaak Walton League or the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum in Knoxville, Iowa.
