Dale James Clark


Dale Clark, 65, of Des Moines, IA, went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ on November 1, 2021 in Des Moines.


Dale was born in Des Moines to Don and Shirley Clark on October 2, 1956.


Dale received Christ as his Savior on October 7, 1979. Following his salvation Dale was radically transformed and had a desire to know God better so he enrolled at Faith Baptist Bible College for two years. He was a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Des Moines. Dale and Carol served with the youth for many years. He delighted in teaching the teens Sunday School class. He served Emmanuel as a deacon and financial secretary at different times. Following his retirement last year, he enjoyed spending time in deeper Bible Study especially focusing on the end times.


Dale and Carol were happily married on June 6, 1981. They just celebrated their 40th wedding Anniversary. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. They enjoyed attending grandchildren activities. They enjoyed traveling, especially their annual trips to Colorado to visit family and enjoy God’s creation. Dale enjoyed cooking and grilling for his family, friends, and church.


Dale is survived by his loving wife, Carol Clark; sons, Andrew Clark and Joel (Meghan) Clark; daughter-in-law, Kara (Emily) Clark; brother, Jim (Janet) Clark; sister, Traci (Biff) Yates; and grandchildren, Macey Clark, Braydin Clark, Zoey Clark, and Myla Clark; mother-in-law Marilyn Roth; and many nieces and nephews.


Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Shirley Clark and Don Clark.


Visitation will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Friday, November 5th from 5-8 PM.


Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday November 6th at Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor David Mapes, officiating. Burial will follow at 11:30 AM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens.


In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Emmanuel Baptist Church.
