Connie D. Collins

Connie D. Collins, 67, of Polk City, IA, passed away on August 9th, 2023.


A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023, at 11 am at the Sunset Memorial Chapel. The family will greet friends from 10 am until service time.


Connie graduated from Burlington High School in 1974. After high school, she spent time with her sister Chris and family in Cheyenne, Wyoming. When Connie moved back to Iowa, she began a career with Hy-Vee food stores. She continued working with the company in Minnesota and Illinois. Connie decided to change careers when she moved to Montana. She lived there for 2 years taking some college courses in computer science. In 1990, she moved back to Des Moines, IA and began working for CDS. She loved working with computers. Connie was with CDS for 23 years.


Everyone who knew Connie knew she had the best laugh ever! When she laughed, you couldn't help but laugh with her. She loved to travel, even went to a Dude Ranch in Colorado, and rode a horse. Connie loved movies, all kinds, old, new, musicals, every type, especially comedies, with her favorite being Pee Wee Herman's Big Top Adventure. Connie loved to bowl, play cards and games, music (Especially Elvis), and basically just having fun.


Her family that honor her are sister Cindy Miller (Glenn) of Burlington, IA, brother Greg Collins (Debbie) of Davenport IA, sister Cookie Walker (Craig) of Tucson, AZ, sister Claudia Collins of Polk City IA. She also is remembered by her 8 nephews and 2 nieces, and 11 great nephews and 2 great nieces. She was preceded in death by many, many loving family members.
