Updated: Jul 9

Christy Ann (Kulild) Caligiuri, 81, passed away Friday, May 24, after a battle with a debilitating illness.

She was born to parents James Kulild and Maxine (Croy) Kulild of Sioux City on November 19, 1943. She attended Roosevelt High School and the University of Missouri.

Many people knew her as a people person who had a ready smile and friendly disposition. She loved her job as a dental assistant for Doctor Patrick Reilly on Ingersoll, which is where she met her husband. Upon her retirement, she loved to take long walks and partake in the Norwalk community. Being a part of a large Italian family seemed to suit the social side of her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Maxine; her husband, Joseph Caligiuri; and her brother James Kulild.

She is survived by her children Robin (Burke) Callan and Jeffrey Burke, her sister-in-law Jan (Kulild) Norman; and her nieces and grand nieces and nephews.

A private interment will take place on Monday, June 3, 2024, at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
