Chris Post, 75, died in hospital on July 28, 2022, at 7 PM in Iowa City after a long struggle with health issues. He is survived by his dedicated, devoted, and loving husband of 36 years, Lee Brittain. He is also survived by his older sister (“second mom”), Betty Koesters.
The house is packed with family, friends, and fans. The show has ended. With a standing ovation and deafening applause, the curtain draws to a close. With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Chris (aka, Bobbie Lee Laurel, Mr. Tina Lee, Skeeter, Lil’ Brother, Uncle Chris, and Granny). Meanwhile, backstage he is lovingly greeted by his mother, Stella; father, Art; Pookie, Punkie, Chester, and his entire menagerie of animal companions. Most recently, his beloved Yogie.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Des Moines, IA. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
