Brice Arness Smith

Brice Arness Smith was born in Des Moines, Iowa on April 26, 1973. He was the son of Robert and Juanita. He was their second child.


He attended Jackson Elementary School which was close to his home. In grade school he was an honor roll student and participated in music learning the piano, French horn and later the guitar.


Brice was the captain of the school patrol unit, den leader in Cub Scouts, patrol leader in Boy Scouts, active in swimming club, and Southridge Soccer League. He attended Weeks Middle School and Lincoln High School. He was on Lincoln High School football team as a linebacker. He injured his knee, so that was the end of his football playing.

The family moved to California in august of 1988. He attended Arroyo Grande High School where his favorite subject was auto mechanics. His interest was always cars from early childhood.


After high school, he worked as a service advisor mostly at BMW dealerships. He delivered the morning newspapers before his dealership job in the mornings.


His favorite movies were Star Wars and Top Gun. His favorite sport was football, and the Iowa Hawkeyes were his favorite team. His hobby was collecting bibles, especially older bibles.


Brice moved to Arizona in 2018. He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in May 2022.

He was so sick, but never lost hope of getting better, and never complained.


He was baptized with the sprinkling of water as an infant, then baptized on the Pacific Ocean as an adult. His strong faith in God led him Home. He attended Sun Valley Church in Gilbert, Arizona.


He is preceded in death by his father, Robert, his brother, Brent and his grandparents, Gerald and Violet McVey, Orion Smith and Mildred Coates, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his mother, Juanita, his brother, Blair, a son, Andrew, two daughters, Melanie and Kristina, three grandchildren, Savannah, Jason, Summer and his niece, Natalie.


Graveside Services are scheduled at Sunset Memorial Gardens on November 10, 2023, at 10:30am
