Brian was born July 22, 1973 in Armour , South Dakota, the son of Larry and Eileen Schmidt. He passed away May 11th, 2022 at his home in Norwalk, Iowa. He grew up on the family farm north of Ravinia. He attended school in Lake Andes, and graduated in 1992. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church.
He attended SDSU, in Brookings for one year. He worked at a car dealership in Sioux Falls for a period of time. Brian decided to go back to school , this time, at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. He graduated in 2000 with a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology.
He moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa . and worked in the Fort Dodge and Des Moines area . He married Jessica Hendrickson, and to this union a son was born.
Brian’s favorite pastime was spending time with his son , Nicholas. They enjoyed fishing and camping and had many other things of interest, most of all operating their new business adventure, Rewind Video Games, a video game store which Nicholas named and designed the logo for.
Thankful for having shared his life is his son Nicholas, his brother Michael and his wife Rita , his parents Larry and Eileen Schmidt, also aunts, uncles, and cousins. Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents Jim and Zola Schmidt, and Stanley and Edna Stevenson; also some special aunts and uncles.
There will be a family service in Norwalk, Iowa, and a private interment at the Lake View Cemetery in Lake Andes at a later date.
