Elizabeth “Betty” M. Pohlmeier, 76, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Betty was born August 24, 1945 to her parents Maurice and Margaret (Donnelly) Nealon in Aurora, Nebraska. She married the love of her life Mick Francis Pohlmeier on June 22, 1964 in Lawrence, Nebraska and had 4 sons.
Betty worked for the State of Iowa for 18 years retiring as a tax examiner in 2007. She was a creator in everything she did specifically crafting and sewing. Betty loved to fill her time by reading books and exercising her mind. Most importantly, she loved to spend time making lasting memories with her grandchildren.
Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her husband of 57 years Mick F. Pohlmeier; her 4 sons Thomas Pohlmeier, Daniel (Diane) Pohlmeier, Chad (Karen) Pohlmeier, and Marty; and sister Maureen Smollen. 8 grandchildren; Megan (Doug) McKim, Rick Pohlmeier, Rob Brindle, Ryan Pohlmeier, Tyler (Clarissa) Pohlmeier, Holly (Jeremy) Ernst, Chad (Samantha) Pohlmeier, and Heather Snyder. As well as her 15 beloved great-grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by her parents and her 6 sisters.
A Visitation will be held Friday, April 15, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Chapel (7601 Fleur Dr.) from 9:00-10:00am with graveside services to follow. Betty will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
