Betty Louise Majerus, 73, of Des Moines passed away February the 16th from complications related to the Liver. Visitation with be Saturday the 19th evening from 6pm to 7pm at Sunset Memorial Chapel – 7601 Fleur Drive. The services will be held Monday the 21st at 10am at Sunset Memorial Chapel– 7601 Fleur Drive– and internment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Betty was a long-time resident of Des Moines, spending most of her career in food service industry with 27 years in KFC where she worked her way up to management. After retirement, she continued working at other positions including indulging her passion with flowers, gardening, and her 3 rescued cats.
Betty is survived by her companion of 32 years, Larry Burnett. Her two sons, Robert Rasmussen and Jerry Rasmussen (Fiancée Tammy Elliott). Four Brothers, Lawrence Majerus (Wife Sondra) of Alabama, Richard Majerus of Nebraska, Anthoney Majerus (Wife Janice) of Ankeny, Karl Majerus of Des Moines. She is also survived by a sister Judith Majerus of California.
After the service, a catered lunch will be served at the Chapel until 12:30pm.
It is requested that in lieu of flowers, a donation in her name be given to an animal rescue organization for the protection of all animals.
