Alberta Brannen

Alberta Brannen was one of 9 children born to Willard and Mable Morris. She was born on April 13, 1931, in Sigourney, Iowa and passed away on May 29, 2026, at the Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa. She was 95 years old.

Alberta lived a full life and enjoyed camping, traveling, dancing with her late husband and raising her six children in her earlier years.  Later years found her still fishing, gardening and bird watching in her own backyard.  She was thrilled to be able to make the trip to the Morris Reunion campout in Colorado last year.  You could usually find a new jigsaw puzzle in progress on her dining room table and she made the absolute BEST sugar cookies and popcorn balls!

She is survived by her six children, Carroll (Jane) Brannen, Peggy (Roger) Meyer, Jerry (Jeanette) Brannen, Beth Brannen, Harry (Elaine) Brannen and Robin (Tom) Burkhalter as well as 19 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren.

Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Brannen, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, and one great-grandson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday June 26^th at 6:00 PM in the Doanes Park Youth Center, 5050 Doanes Park Road Pleasant Hill, Iowa. Friends and family are invited to come and share stories.
